This was not the first time that a washed-up washer came up to Brigitte, claiming she reminded him of a hamper he once knew. And, sadly, it wouldn’t be the last.

A photographic long-term study of the motivations, behaviors and fates of seating furniture trying to make it out in the world. All chairs participated voluntarily and were not coerced or pushed into a certain position. Not all the chairs wished to share their stories.
